Volunteers are needed to help out when Offutt Air Force Base conducts a disaster exercise on August 14. The simulated plane crash will help the base, local "first responders" and other disaster response teams test their emergency plans, so they they’ll be ready in a time of real crisis.

There are several "roles" people will be asked to play:

• Crash victims who will be ‘painted’ with makeup that depicts an injury
• Victims who will be processed through a mock decontamination unit
• Relatives of victims who will help test the plans for a Family Assistance Center.

Volunteers serving as "victims" must be at least 19 years old. Younger volunteers may participate as "victims’ relatives" - IF-  a parent or guardian is also participating as a volunteer family member.

Registration deadline is August 5, 2010.
