Volunteers, Training & More!
United Way helps people find the right volunteer project...trains potential volunteers for special positions, supports local volunteer managers...and even helps with programs like Toys for Tots and Court Referral Community Service.

Special Days of Service

There are special days set aside each year to promote the value of volunteer service in our community. Find out how you can get involved!

Heartland Blueprint Training

The success of our local nonprofits depends upon the guidance and leadership of the volunteers on their  boards and committees. United Way's "Heartland Blueprint" training helps prepare people to serve effectively in these volunteer positions.

Medical Reserve Corps

The first 24 to 72 hours after a disaster, a community is usually "on its own" - outside help will take time to arrive. Fortunately, the local Medical Reserve Corps will serve the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. Find out what it's all about.     (The MRC has been helping out at H1N1 vaccination clinics since October 2009, and members have delivered H1N1 flu presentations as well.)
