Financial Education – Making it Work
Learn strategies for providing effective financial education from a financial
advisor, a financial counselor and a financial educator. A variety of
perspectives will be provided from financial education within the workplace to
financial education within the school. Panelists will also address differences
when working with various populations including those of varying incomes and
ages.

Consumer Awareness: What You Need to Know
Want to learn more about the upcoming credit card reform? Tax credit
changes? Fringe financial services providers? How to file consumer
complaints? Come to this session to get this information and more and leave
better equipped to answer your clients’ questions and direct them to
appropriate resources. Consumer Action Handbooks will also be available in
English and Spanish.

Asset Development Efforts in Your Community
Learn about available resources that can lead toward greater financial stability
for your business and your employees

The Future is NOW…Banking for Young People!
Learn about successful banking programs for young people throughout the
state. At this session, you will get perspectives from a school principal, a
student, an after-school program and a banker on the benefits and challenges
of a banking program for young people within a school or within a community
organization. You will also learn the ins and outs of starting and managing a
program.

Assisting Entrepreneurs with Capital, One-on-One Business Coaching and Training
Small / micro business programs assist entrepreneurs and their existing or start
up businesses across Nebraska. Learn how to connect and collaborate with
these programs for resources in your community. Examples of people growing
assets through business start up and development will be showcased in this
session.

Building Assets in the Workplace: Benefits for You and Your Employees
Learn how to help your employees start getting ahead instead of just getting
by. Presenters will discuss how you can help your employees of all income
levels build assets and how this benefits you as an employer. Topics will
include retirement funding, tax issues, financial education, employer assisted
housing and others. Finally, presenters will discuss the challenges that arise
with these efforts and possible ways to address them.

2:20 – 3:20 pm Starting a Financial Education Program
During 2008, both the "Bank On the Heartland" Campaign was launched and
Grameen America opened its doors in Omaha. Panelists will discuss how to
connect with and profit from the underserved market of the unbanked and underbanked.

Community-Based Housing Development
Learn what non-profit organizations are doing to strengthen their
communities . . . one family at a time.

Business Case for Workplace Financial Education
Since 2006, local businesses have been offering a workplace financial
education program in Omaha designed by the Federal Reserve Bank of
Kansas City – Omaha Branch and the Financial Stability Partnership-United
Way of the Midlands. Two employers and a researcher will discuss the benefits
about the business for both employers and employees which includes
increased retention and retirement participation as well as decreased
absenteeism, garnishments, judgments, and 401(k) loan requests.

thoughts and decide how to move forward to help Nebraskans become more
