There are special days set aside each year to promote the value of volunteer service in our community. Find out how you can get involved!
Throughout the year, there are special days set aside to celebrate community service. The goal: to involve adults and young people in projects that help people and organizations in need...and to foster a greater sense of "community."
Talk about some great ways to LIVE UNITED!
Here are some of the annual "days of service" that United Way of the Midlands coordinates locally: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Third Monday in January National Youth Service Day - Late April (send an email to us for more information!) Join Hands Day - First Saturday in May (send an email to us for more information!) Day of Caring - Late August/Early September (it will be Thursday Sept. 2, 2010! send an email for info!)
One Day's Pay - Mid September
