There's so much happening every day at United Way, thanks to the many generous donors and volunteers who give their money and time. Here's where to get an overview of activities.

United Way of the Midlands is how our community uses its head, and its heart, to lend people a hand. It's a powerful partnership of donors, volunteers and service providers that changes people's lives and makes a lasting impact on local conditions.

With your help, United Way supports and monitors a network of the very best local human care programs. It's called the Community Care Fund, a safety net of services for people in need.
 
And now, with partners old and new, there's an even sharper focus on some of the area's most critical needs. Families in poverty. Teens in trouble. Seniors struggling to remain independent. Young children who need to get ready to start school. United Way's community impact initiatives take aim at the root causes of their hardships, instead of just treating the symptoms.
 
United Way of the Midlands also hosts the state of Nebraska's 2-1-1 Call Center, offering accurate referrals to community services for 1.3 million Nebraskans and the people in 8 southwest Iowa Counties.
 
And, United Way's Volunteer Resource Center matches people with meaningful community service projects -- kids, teens, families, employee groups, and many others find rewarding ways to serve our metro area's nonprofit organizations through the Center.
 
It's so much more than any single agency or person can do alone...and it starts with a single gift. Yours. For 87 years, United Way of the Midlands has remained flexible, meeting the changing needs of our community. United Way of the Midlands has become the principal mechanism through which people can become most fully involved - directly and personally - in improving life in our community.
