"Planned gifts" are a variety of charitable giving methods providing donors the opportunity to express their personal values by integrating charitable, family, and financial goals, with their dreams and aspirations for a better tomorrow.

Just as payroll deduction is a technique allowing donors to give through income, planned giving is a technique of providing social capital via accumulated assets.  Therefore, planned gifts enable donors to provide significant gifts to their community, via a considered, deliberate process unique to them.

Though each gift is as unique as their donor, every gift provides perennial, sustainable support for critical human service needs for generations to come.  For example:

  • Some gifts "HELP NOW", such as outright gifts of cash, appreciated stock and securities, endowment of an annual gift, and lead trusts.
  • Other gifts "HELP LATER", such as bequests, life insurance, retirement plans and real estate interests.
  • Still another gift group, known as "SPLIT INCOME" gifts, is an attractive option, because they pay income to the donor.  They include charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
