Heartland Blueprint's focus is to strengthen the boards of not-for-profits within the United Way of the Midlands' service area through a greater involvement of African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino and Asian/Pacific Islanders. The program is administered by the United Way of the Midlands Volunteer Resource Center. Nearly 350 people have graduated from the program in the past 17 years.

Blueprint is a series of workshops over a three-month period that starts in February of each year and concludes with a graduation in May.
