United Way of the Midlands Receives National Grant to Promote Financial Education

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation has announced nearly $1.5 million in grants to 12 recipients, including Omaha's United Way, to extend the reach of community-based financial education programs across the country.

Free Tax Sites Open for 2010

Volunteers are ready to help lower-income workers and older adults prepare their 2009 tax returns, in 2010.  The sites are run by a partnership that includes the Omaha Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Family Housing Advisory Services, United Way and many great volunteers!
